CONCEPTION

The Spirit 15 Wing marks Rainbow Aircraft's return to trike wing development and manufacture. After 2 years in development at Rainbow Aircraft's Wing Dept. under the experienced guidance of Wing Master Jenya Zozulya, the Spirit 15 Wing finally went into production in mid-2002... All development goals were achieved. The performance and handling of this wing far exceeded all expectations.

PRODUCTION

By late 2002 over 30 wings had been produced to great acclaim from pilots and instructors in many regions. The first Spirit 15 Wings began arriving in the US in November 2002. Rainbow Aircraft, Inc. (through Trike-Wings.com) is the exclusive US importer of the Spirit 15 Wing.

FEATURES

The Spirit 15 Wing incorporates the following design features (hover over links to view pictures):

• Streamlined Downtubes and Kingpost
• Batten tips are springloaded resulting in a 'clean' trailing edge and greater efficiency
• The main section of the upper wing sail is clear trilam, for extra durability and good looks
• Extra heavy-duty materials and hardware
• High quality machined aluminim parts throughout the wing

HANDLING

All of the design innovation and state-of-the-art manufacturing would mean nothing if the wing didn't handle as beautifully as it does. The wing is light-handling in both pitch and roll and yet stable in both axes. Stability in turbulence is excellent.

PERFORMANCE

The Spirit 15 Wing has an extra-wide speed range. Slow speed performance is great and it has a genuine 60 MPH + top end cruise. It is a wing that will take you places! Also, one of this wing's greatest attributes is a climb rate that surprised even the designers. They have managed to produce a wing that generates a lot of lift, yet still has plenty of speed.
